We had a blast at the September watercolor class!

We changed it up and held class in the Red Barn at Linville Falls Winery, which was actually a long-time dream come true for me. This barn has been my passion project for years, and it's brought me so much joy to see it be transformed into a space that more people can use and enjoy. Getting to teach watercolor from inside its walls was enough to make my heart explode!

It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon with a breeze blowing through the barn doors, grape harvest in full-swing, and live music drifting down to us from up at the winery patio. My new friends let me be giddy about my love for fall while they learned to paint three different types of leaves. Let me tell ya, they did so great! I am always blown away by the art my class participants create. A little wine and a whole lot of fresh mountain air brings out the artist in everyone! Not one of them had ever tried watercolor before, but by the end of the class they were getting directions to the nearest craft store. Love it!

August Watercolor Class

The first official J. Louise watercolor class at Linville Falls Winery was so much fun! For starters, it was a beautiful evening overlooking the vineyard: the vines were full grown and everything was so lush + green! But let's talk about this group. They were so sweet and eager to learn, and made it such a joy to teach! It was so cool to see their skills improve, and by the end of the evening they each had created some really awesome mountains scenes.

We are already planning the next watercolor class at Linville Falls Winery, so be on the lookout because I'd love to see you there!
